The family of Joseph Graffagnino, one of the two firefighters who died in the line of duty in the August 2007 fire at the former Deutsche Bank building, has filed a wrongful death suit against the FDNY and Department of Buildings.
The lawsuit comes less than two months after the family of the other firefighter who lost his life, Robert Beddia, announced lawsuits against the slew of state agencies and private contracting companies that were involved in the deconstruction of the stricken building.
Earlier this week another firefighter, Neil Nally, announced plans to sue as well. He received serious neck injuries days after the fire when a forklift working within the building accidentally dropped debris onto him from 23 stories up.
